Project Details
This project was the renovation and restoration of an existing historic residence that was originally built in the mid-1800's. Originally constructed with limestone foundations, 12" brick masonry, and hand carved wood framing, the residence retains many original features.
Exterior Scope:
- Installation of a new roof using Vermont Mottled Green & Purple Slate
- Installation of a new 6" half round double beaded copper gutter system
- Installation of custom Marvin windows to match the historic profile
- New wood fascia, cornice, and entry doors
- Reconstruction of two existing porches and the addition of a new covered porch
- Masonry patchwork and restoration as needed
Interior Scope:
- Repair and stabilization of original plaster and sealing of exposed brick
- Restoration and refinishing of original wood flooring
- Installation of new gypsum board ceilings, trim, millwork, and casework
- Restoration of existing wood staircase
- Updated HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems and infrastructure
The project balances historical preservation with modern system upgrades, ensuring long-term durability while honoring the home's original craftsmanship and architectural character.
